**Update 05/07/2011**

-Well hello! It certainly has been a while since our last update so we do hope this finds you happy and healthy! Bob took his foot off the social accelerator for a little while to complete a course with the Gallery of Photography and to concentrate on various projects as a result of this. However, we couldn't stay away for too long as we have some exciting updates to share with you.

-First up, Bob will be showing some work in the MadArt Gallery as part of the PhotoIreland Festival. Entitled the FOUR FLOORS group photography show | PhotoIreland 2011, the exhibition will be held from 19th of July to 31st of July. The opening night is on the 21st of July at 6pm. As always, you are all more than welcome to attend and we hear whispers that you can bring you're own drinks along which always adds to the fun!

-Bob was recently interviewed for the upcoming issue of Click magazine. Click magazine is a monthly lifestyle publication focused on the worlds of movies, games and technology. In the interview Bob discusses the camera's he has used, past and present and also gives some recommendations along with some insights into his influences to date. Click magazine can be purchased from all leading retailers including Tesco, Easons, Dunnes, Spar and Centra so you should have no problems getting your hands on a copy. The interview may be featured on their online site too so if it is, I will link it up directly on here.

-We have just added portraits of the fantastic Túcan, an instrumental acoustic guitar based group who rocked their recent Grand Social gig in Dublin so Bob couldn't resist adding them to his collection. Check them out on their facebook here for more information about upcoming shows.

-For those of you who frequent the Dublin gig scene, you may or may not be aware that Bob has some work hanging in the downstairs bar of The Workmans Club which are proving very popular. So much so in fact, that the very lovely Workmans Club have asked Bob to showcase some more work in their upstairs bar. It's looking like they will be on display for the month of August and we will have a launch night to kick it all off, I will post up an event page on Bob's facebook page when all is confirmed. We are thinking of displaying this work on canvas for a change. Bob hasn't printed anything on canvas before so we will look into it more but it may be a more cost effective way of displaying the work which means we can make them more price friendly for your pocket too!

-I think that's all for now although I do have that annoying feeling that I'm forgetting something...We promise not to disappear for so long next time. Keep dropping by the site and sending on your messages through the contact page, Bob loves to get your feedback on all works, old and new. Thanks guys :)

**Update 04/12/2010**

This calendar would make a wonderful stocking filler this Christmas and hey, it's not everyday that you can purchase several pieces of art by Bob Dixon for such a nominal fee! The calendar is available to buy through the webshop

A new framing option is now available just ask for more details and I will kindly oblige.

-We are delighted to be able to tell you that a photograph that Bob took of a piece by the wonderful artist John Duffy has made a soon to released book cover. The book by author Felicity Heathcote is a play in one act entitled 'The Man with No Secrets'. JD created this piece having heard the story of Mordachai Vannunu and as Bob has been documenting JD's work for years, he captured this and thought no more it...and then he got a phonecall saying it was the cover shot! More info on the books release date as soon as we get it.

-Have you been wondering whatever happened to the release of Bob's first book of Portrait photography? Fear not dear friends, the book is still very much in the pipeline but due to a combination of several little hold ups we have postponed the release until everything is 100% right. -You may or may not have noticed that we have set up a fan-page on Facebook! Keep an eye out for cheeky little 'For One Hour Only' shots that may surprise, shock and inspire you. - Bob's collaborative piece for The Little Ghost Gallery in Kilkenny entitled Pen Pal Pears is still underway. The exhibition launch date has been changed to the 6th of August at 8pm which means we are now officially part of Kilkenny Arts Festival 2010! There have also been some interesting changes to the level of Bob's participation in this exhibition. Not only will he be collaborating with a wonderful artist by the name of Eveleen Murphy but another participant will be showcasing a project on our very own Doctor! Ella Bertilsson is a former collaborator of Bobs who has decided to enter a piece entitled 'Who is Ted Nixon?' Having only shared a few written communications with Bob over the past two months, Ella is going to present her interpretation of who Bob is...what he looks like, his favourite food, love song, colour etc. We cannot wait to see the results!

- The Doc has been selected to work on a new exhibition, run by The Little Ghost Gallery in Kilkenny entitled Pen Pal Pears. It’s a collaborative expo and the concept was to put all contributing artists names into a hat and draw two at random. These artists then become ‘Pen Pal Pears’, the artists paired up could be from any medium; photography, painting, dancing, sculpting, modelling, model making- the list is endless as is the potential for very interesting and unique work.
